What's new for users
Highlights from recent releases — speed improvements, writing tools, classroom sync fixes, and smarter AI feedback.
Compiled June 2026 · Scribo, GPS, Claro teams
Speed & performance
Faster student view loading
Speed
Heavy background requests are now delayed or skipped on load — including Immersive Reader tokens and assignment snapshots — so student views open noticeably faster.
Autosave fires instantly on paste
Speed
Autosave now triggers every 2 seconds and saves immediately whenever content is pasted, so your work is always captured right away.
Faster AI endpoints
Speed
Phrase search, text statistics, and other heavy AI features now run on a dedicated faster server, cutting wait times for real-time writing feedback.
Audio summaries load instantly on repeat
Speed
Audio summaries are now cached server-side — playing a summary a second time is instant rather than regenerating from scratch.
Writing experience
Assignments lock when marked complete
Writing
Students can no longer edit an assignment after the teacher marks it as completed, keeping submissions final and preventing accidental changes.
Reset Scaffold button
Writing
A new "Reset Scaffold" button lets teachers clear and restart scaffolding for an assignment directly from the interface — no workaround needed.
New writing plans: TEXAS & TIDE
Writing
Two new structured writing frameworks are now available — TEXAS and TIDE — with reliable save buttons so plans are never lost mid-session.
Sentence highlights fixed in Scribo
Writing
Multiple bugs with inline sentence highlighting have been resolved, making feedback navigation and selection more reliable during marking.
Text-to-speech in Writing Goals
Writing
Writing Goals now includes text-to-speech, helping students hear their goals read aloud as part of the planning and reflection process.
Classroom & sync
Google Classroom now shows all classes
Classroom
The sync now pages through your full list of classes instead of cutting off. Sync errors also surface directly in the UI, so you can see what went wrong without guessing.
MS Teams uses targeted permissions
Classroom
The Teams integration now requests only the specific permissions it needs, replacing the broad group read/write access that was previously required during consent.
Flip the Pen: multi-class support
Classroom
Flip the Pen now works across multiple classes with student selection, a new text input, and the ability to skip step 2 for faster setup.
Reports
Export rubric feedback as PDF
Reports
Rubric feedback can now be exported directly as a PDF file, making it easy to share assessments with students, parents, or for your own records.
Rubric rows expand inline
Reports
Rubric descriptions now expand across all columns in a row instead of opening a separate modal — faster to review, and easier to compare across criteria.
Compact report cover & updated branding
Reports
The report cover is more compact and better balanced, with an updated logo and improvements to how the rubric section is laid out within the report.
AI & feedback
Gibberish detection protects feedback quality
AI
The system now detects gibberish input and hides rubric scores and AI feedback when content doesn't meet quality thresholds — for both students and teachers.
Better tense and position detection
AI
The AI writing assistant now detects tense errors more accurately and can flag positional issues within sentences, giving students more precise grammar guidance.
Safer suggestion acceptance on slow networks
AI
Rapid consecutive clicks on "Accept suggestion" are now blocked when on a slow connection, preventing duplicate or broken text insertions.
Fixes & accessibility
Immersive Reader only loads when needed
Accessibility
Immersive Reader tokens are no longer fetched on every page load — it skips loading for communities that don't use it, reducing overhead for everyone.
Password reset works for all names
Fix
Users whose name or email contained an apostrophe (e.g. O'Brien) were unable to reset their password. This is now fixed.
No more duplicate images in the library
Fix
A UI bug that caused images to appear twice in the public library has been resolved.
